Al loved this time of year. Even though he was extra busy and had little time off, unlike the rest of us, his creativity flowed. It was also a time of ambiguity because the Joy of Christmas is not always the reality for many. His messages were mindful, bringing hope, love, joy and peace to all.

Christmas Happened in our World
Two attributes that were most important to Al were Humility and Gratitude. Thanksgiving is a good time to remind ourselves of this.
The first document is a Prayer Litany for Thanksgiving that Al wrote. He loved litanies and always wrote his own.
The second is a Thanksgiving Message he first wrote in Canada during the late 90’s. We had just arrived in October where he was to pastor a large church with 3 services per Sunday. The first service was traditional, the second was contemporary. The third evening service was a combination of both. (What was he thinking? We had just moved from Hawaii with only one service per Sunday.) Nor did he realize that it was Canadian Thanksgiving and first off, an additional message was required.
We lived on the Fraser River. Eagles are abundant in the beautiful Vancouver, BC area. His first message was inspired by the eagles and how they are a lot like God.
